Van Gogh Amsterdam Canal Cruise

Awesome: Vincent van Gogh returns to Amsterdam after 130 years

Did you know that Vincent visited Amsterdam in 1885 for the last time? He spent 3 days in Amsterdam to visit the Rijksmuseum and see some paintings of Rembrandt and Frans Hals, which he admired very much..

Did you know that Vincent spent one year of his life in Amsterdam and had some other relations with this city?.

In Amsterdam he followed his first passion; the passion to become a priest like his father and grandfather, but finally he did not succeed.

His second meeting point was the unattainable love he felt for his cousin Kee. He travelled to Amsterdam to catch a glimpse of her.

When he already had become a painter, he travelled again to Amsterdam to see the old masters and to make some paintings of Amsterdam. These where the last dark paintings he made in his life.
